About

Hello!
Welcome to Gramm Speech and Myofunctional Therapy. My name is Abbie Gramm, and I am a speech language pathologist trained in orofacial myology. I received my Master in Science in Speech Language Pathology at Illinois State University. I have worked in school and clinic settings since 2017 with primarily pediatrics and a wide variety of communication disorders.
In 2022, my son was born and we discovered he had lip and tongue ties. This began my journey into orofacial myology, which subsequently prompted the decision to open my own practice. I truly believe that myofunctional therapy is a missing link in our overall health and speech therapy care. From sleep apnea, to TMJ, to a sticky “r”, my practice can help you finally make the difference you are looking for.

A Note on Continuing Education and Training
As a speech language pathologist, we must adhere to rigorous standards to maintain our licensure. There are requirements for taking a certain number of hours of coursework to renew a license. The field of speech language pathology, and even more-so orofacial myology, is broad and constantly developing. We are always seeking to learn more about our profession, stay up-to-date with our strategies, and to deepen our understanding of disorders, assessment, treatment, ethics, and more. We know that as individuals and professionals our expertise and experience is finite and that there is always more to learn. That said, here’s some trainings that have been taken:
- Discover the Myofunctional Therapy Puzzle (Pat Pine)
- Foundations in Manual Therapy (Walt Fritz)
- Myo Membership (Hallie Bulkin)
- Prevention of Feeding, Speech, and Mouth Development Problems: Birth to Age 2 (Diane Bahr)
- Bilingual assessment considerations (various)
- Ethics (various)
